We are pleased to announce that
CONNECT Co-Executive Director Quentin Walcott is one of ten advocates and survivors selected to serve on the
NYC Domestic Violence Task Force (
DVTF) Steering Committee. The interdisciplinary
DVTF Steering Committee will support a series of citywide initiatives to improve prevention efforts and the city’s response to domestic violence. The first
DVTF Steering Committee meeting will be held in February, after which subcommittees will be developed.
The steering committee members were chosen through a nomination process. The
NYC organizations represented on the steering committee include:
Day One,
CONNECT,
Her Justice,
New Destiny Housing,
Queens Legal Services,
Safe Horizon,
Steps to End Family Violence,
Urban Justice Center,
Voices of Women and
Center for Court Innovation. Additionally, representatives from city agencies, the five District Attorney’s Offices and criminal legal services will also participate in the Steering Committee.
