A wide variety of child centered techniques will be described and practiced; including storytelling, expressive art, individual play, and group play. The interventions being taught all meet the criteria of being specific, practical, and relatively easy to implement. Clinical case material will be used to illustrate the concepts discussed and a description of play materials for working within this paradigm will be provided. Participants will be encouraged to share their own case material. Issues of transference, counter-transference and therapist self-care will also be addressed.
