The Power of Transformation Course - Identifying and Overcoming Vicarious Trauma (VT)
Last Updated: 05/10/10 12:57PM
Through The Power of Transformation course you will learn about vicarious trauma (VT) and how it affects your agency/organization, the work you do with clients and you personally.
***NOTE: THIS COURSE IS ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS (6:30pm - 8:30pm)*** Many advocacy and child welfare agencies provide a vital, necessary service by helping children and families who undergo extreme forms of neglect and abuse. More often than not, the children and adults of these families also suffer from trauma. Over time, people in the helping profession like you are affected by working with traumatized families due to the heart felt connection you establish with those you serve. Participants will also develop their own self-care strategies to minimize the effects of VT.
